Shirley Skipper-Scott, the warden at Metropolitan Correctional Center (MMC) that held Jeffrey Epstein, has been temporally reassigned under a directive from AG Barr to the Bureau of Prisons. Two staff members have also been placed on administrative leave, according to DoJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec.
Skipper-Scott will now work at the bureau’s Northeast Regional Office pending a joint investigation by the FBI and Justice Department inspector general into the circumstances surrounding Jeffrey Eppstein’s death.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a person familiar with operation at the jail spoke on anonymity and said Epstein was found in his jail cell with a bedsheet around his neck.
Earlier, AG Barr issued a warning to any co-conspirator in the sex crimes case against Epstein “should not rest easy.” He also added, “The victims deserve justice, and they will get it.”
