Turkey’s president Erdogan told Sky News he will only meet with Trump and not Pence nor Pompeo who will travel to Ankara Wednesday to discuss a ceasefire in northeast Syria.
“They say ‘declare a ceasefire’. We will never declare a ceasefire,” Erdogan told reporters after a visit to Baku, Azerbaijan.
“They are pressuring us to stop the operation. They are announcing sanctions. Our goal is clear. We are not worried about any sanctions,” the Turkish president said.Haaretz:
Leaders from both parties and Chambers of Congress will meet with Trump today to discuss the situation in Syria. Trump and Erdogan will meet in Washington next month.
In the mean time, Russia now occupies our military base in Syria.
