Trump asked Billy Barr to hold a presser telling the world he broke no laws

The Washington Post has reported that Trump wanted AG Barr to hold a press conference where he would tell the world that Trump did not break any laws during his phone call with the president of Ukraine; Barr declined.

Although Trump and Barr remain on good terms, according to The Post the Justice Dept. has distanced itself from the White House amidst the chaos, controversy, and impeachment inquiry.

A senior administration official said Trump praised the attorney general publicly and privately Wednesday, and deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement: “The President has nothing but respect for AG Barr and greatly appreciates the work he’s done on behalf of the country — and no amount of shady sources with clear intent to divide, smear, and slander will change that.”

Who will be Trump' running mate?
