Applause from the audience broke out at the end of Marie Yovanovitch’s testimony today in the impeachment inquiry.
As Adam Schiff gaveled the meeting closed, Republican representative Mike Conaway (TX) was repeatedly asking to be recognized, citing the need to push back against disparaging remarks made by Schiff at the closing. Conaway’s microphone was turned off, while applause was drowning him out. The audience, including committee Democrats, gave Yovanovitch a standing ovation.
