Trump responds to Judge’s ruling on McGahn case

'Simply put Presidents are not kings'

Monday, federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson ruled that former White House Counsel Don McGahn must testify to House impeachment investigators. In her ruling, Judge Brown Jackson stated:

“Stated simply, the primary takeaway from the past 250 years of recorded American history is that Presidents are not kings,” Jackson wrote.

“It is indisputable that current and former employees of the White House work for the People of the United States, and that they take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” the judge added.

CNN:

On Tuesday, Trump responded to the judge’s ruling in a series of Tweets claiming he would “love” to have officials like Secy. Mike Pompeo, Acting Chief of Staff Mulvaney and other testify in the impeachment inquiry but he is “fighting for future Presidents.”

DOJ has appealed the McGahn ruling.

Trump travels to Florida today to hold a bigly rally.
