Amazon has removed product offered by third-party sellers that feature “images of the Auschwitz concentration camps amid anger from the museum that manages the site.”
Items Amazon dumped include: “a variety of tree ornaments, a mouse pad and a bottle opener, which the Auschwitz Memorial described as “disturbing and disrespectful.”
A spokesperson for Amazon told CNN Business, “All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action, including potential removal of their account. The products in question have been removed.”
Amazon had previously removed some products after receiving complaints that the items were offensive to Muslims. These items included: t”oilet covers imprinted with the Quran and Islamic scripture.”
Earlier this year, Amazon took down videos that promoted anti-vaxxer nonsense.
