Trump Concerned North Korea Might Interfere in 2020 Election

As Kim Jong Un has said denuclearization is off the negotiating table, Trump suggests that this could be perceived as election interference.

Trump said Saturday: “I’d be surprised if North Korea acted hostilely. I have a very good relationship with Kim Jong-un. I think we both want to keep it that way. He knows I have an election coming up. I don’t think he wants to interfere with that.”

A vague agreement between the two leaders last year has fizzled into a political nothingburger, as North Korea has said for weeks that talks have become impossible with “hostile policies” of the U.S.
