Moscow Mitch will not take up Trump’s bigly USMCA deal in the Senate until after impeachment trial

After Democratic leadership gave the green light to advance Trump’s USMCA Trade Bill deal with Canada and Mexico, Moscow Mitch said that the Senate will not take up the bill this year.

“We will not be doing USMCA in the Senate. That will have to come up in all likelihood after a trial is finished in the Senate,” he said.

The Hill:

“From my perspective it’s not as good as I had hoped.”

The Senate planned to adjourn December 13th but will stay in D.C. through Dec. 20 to advert a government shutdown.

McConnell also said that Trump’s impeachment trial should begin sometime in January.
