Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) posted to Twitter on Friday a letter she wrote to Mark Zuckerberg, citing posts from a Facebook group that called for violence against Muslims and Michigan Democrats. She asked Zuckerberg to ensure that hateful and violent speech on Facebook doesn’t interfere with the 2020 election.
An anti-Whitmer page called People vs. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, has been taken down and is no longer available, but a letter from the Detroit Metro Times alerted the governor to the threats against Whitmer, and U.S. Reps Rashida Tlaib and Elissa Slotkin.
