During the last twenty four hours, the stock market hit the skids again ending a 11 year bull run. Trump addressed the nation and caused futures to hit the skids,. The NBA cancelled the remainder of the season indefinitely, and who knows what else will come. Oh, and The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus a pandemic on Wednesday.

But this is what we know thus far:

The Democratic controlled House of Representatives have worked on legislation cited as the ‘‘Families First Coronavirus Response Act’’.

The Hill:

More than 1,300 cases have been reported in the United States, with at least 37 deaths, including five new fatalities reported on Wednesday. Officials in upwards of 43 states and the District of Columbia have said they are treating patients, and Delaware, North Dakota and Mississippi reported their first cases.

The Washington Post:

Trump’s order banning travel from Europe for 30 days unleashed new shock in global markets Thursday, with Asian stocks and oil prices falling sharply as fears mounted over the prospect of a world recession due to the impact of the new coronavirus.

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte of Italy on Wednesday ordered almost all businesses nationwide to close as infections and deaths from the new coronavirus continued to soar, two days after he announced stringent travel restrictions.

Pharmacies, grocery stores, banks and public transit will be allowed to operate, but any other commercial enterprise that is not vital — restaurants, bars, most stores, cafes, beauty salons — must close to limit the contagion, Mr. Conte said in an evening address to the nation.

The New York Times:
