It not only is 5:00 somewhere, it’s 5:00 where I am, and these protestors in Michigan are driving me to drink some more. While there are healthier ways to manage the stress of living in a place where armed protestors are allowed to make the entire state look like morons, it’s Friday, and another week in pandemic purgatory is in the books. Oh, and it’s 5:00.
So let me suggest Ladies Night for me and my awesome governor, and for all of the strong and smart women in our lives. For nurses, teachers, daycare providers, senior living caregivers — our moms, sisters, wives, daughters — and for the women in public service and leadership roles in government and administrative positions — thank you for your grace and strength, and the courage to deal with everything these days have thrown at you. Cheers to you all with much more appreciation than words and adult beverages can say!
While Cecily Strong (appropriate surname!) suggested Gretchen likes Canadian beer, the good governor herself would prefer a great Michigan beer like Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale, which believe me is as great as our beautiful lakes.
As for me? It’ll be a Moscow Mule.
