Trump on Friday urged Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (or Half-Whitmer as he previously referred to her) to make a deal with “very good” people protesting in her Capitol building with assault style rifles.
While Whitmer has received public backlash over strict stay-at-home orders, the Michigan GOP legislature is threatening to file a lawsuit challenging her authority. Whitmer extended her emergency declaration Friday that would have expired Thursday night despite the political mayhem provided by the state GOP leaders.
Protesters on Thursday stormed the capitol building inside while Michigan State Police stood their ground in the face of armed and unmasked men and women.
Governor Whitmer responded on Twitter this morning.
