State Department Provides Thousands of Documents to Republicans on Biden

The State Department has continued to provide Senate Republicans with over 4,000 pages of documents regarding Joe Biden and Ukraine during the coronavirus pandemic, according to Oregon Senator Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on one of the committees running the investigation.

One thousand of those pages came in early April as the country was facing lockdowns from the pandemic, crippling the country and many government functions.

Wyden also says the State Department has neither produced any of the documents he requested nearly three months ago nor “communicated with [his] office in any way about the request.”

In February, Wyden accused the Treasury Department of prioritizing Republicans’ requests for records over those from Democrats in Congress, which led Republicans to accuse the senator of leaking sensitive information. The next month, former president Barack Obama privately condemned the investigation, BuzzFeed News first reported on Tuesday.

In a letter dated March 13, President Obama accused the Republicans of boosting Russian disinformation.
