The protester whose display of a doll with a noose around its neck prompted an altercation at the Michigan Capitol Thursday is a candidate for state representative with a criminal record.
Multiple sources confirmed to MLive the man is James Chapman, who on April 21 filed to run for the 21st state House district as a Republican with a $100 filing fee….
A fight broke out after a man allegedly showed up with an axe or hatchet of some sort. Michigan State Police showed up and are currently interviewing him.
