Police Violence in Buffalo NY

Just saw this story of police officers suspended for violently shoving an older man tonight. Please be warned, it’s another one that’s difficult to watch.

Shortly after Buffalo’s curfew started, city police and state police swept through the area of Niagara Square directly in front of City Hall to clear the area where a protest was finishing. An unidentified, older man was shoved by two officers in the line. The man lost his balance and fell to the pavement, audibly hitting his head with blood running out from under his head.

Eric County official Mark Poloncarz tweeted a little while ago that the man is in the hospital and is currently stable. Department officials have since said a full Internal Affairs investigation is underway and that Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood has ordered the immediate suspension of the two officers involved, without pay.

The story is continuing to develop.
