Two days after Oregon State Troopers were caught on video defying a state-wide mask mandate in a coffee shop, Governor Kate Brown met with the officers at her home.
One trooper is on paid leave and the other three are under investigation after they refused to wear a mask inside a Corvallis coffee shop on Wednesday.
Brown said that the troopers took responsibility and expressed regret for their decision. She said that they pledged to do better, and that she was focused on saving lives, not firing people for making a mistake.
After the meeting with the officers, Brown said that she and the officers agreed that wearing masks saves lives, “so you’ll see them –and me– wearing a face-covering each and every day until we beat this virus.”
