CA Governor Newsom orders statewide shutdown of numerous businesses and activities

On Monday, Governor Newsom ordered the closure of restaurants for indoor dining, wineries, theaters, zoos, museums, card rooms, bars and family entertainment centers in all counties throughout the state. He also ordered shopping malls, gyms, indoor church worship, and nail salons to close in 30 counties to help the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

“This is a new statewide action, effective today. This continues to be a deadly disease. This continues to be a disease that puts people in our ICUs and our hospitals. and is currently putting a strain on our hospital system and our ICUs.”

Earlier today, the Los Angeles and San Diego public schools announced they will be starting the school year remote-only in August as coronavirus cases rise in Southern California.

“The skyrocketing infection rates of the past few weeks make it clear the pandemic is not under control” read the joint statement.
