Rep Louie Gohmert (Idiot-TX) told Fox News that he plans to treat his COVID-19 with hydroxychloroquine and zinc.
“My doctor and I are all in,” Gohmert said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.
“I got a text before I came on from a friend doctor who just found out he had it, and he started the regimen too — zinc and hydroxychloroquine. And that will start in a day or two, so thank you,” he said after Hannity asked him if he would take hydroxychloroquine.
Dr. Anthony Fauci reiterated on Wednesday that hydroxychloroquine has been consistently shown to be ineffective as a treatment against COVID-19.
Gohmert has taken a public stance against wearing masks. Gohmert has also suggested that wearing a mask may have contributed to his acquiring the virus, and he apparently remains without symptoms.
Subsequently, Mr. Gohmert has acquired a new nickname.
