It’s 5:00 Somewhere

It’s the weekend! We made it to another Friday, and if it’s not 5:00 yet where you are, it will be soon. Hope you all are making plans to enjoy some quality weekend time before we all get back to the bustle of back-to-school routines. Har-har-har.

While looking around for things to do I came across a whopper. Dust off your hawgs…….

Yep, that’s right! If you’ve had about enough of this corona crap and masks and social distancing, get on your bikes and ride to Sturgis, South Dakota! They are OPEN FOR BUSINESS.

Yessiree, South Dakota has reported one of the lowest tallies in America for COVID cases and deaths, and Sturgis itself, a town of around 7,000 people, has only recorded 78 cases.

The bigly motorcycle rally typically attracts 500,000, and the city manager said he’d heard of several who intended to be there, COVID or no COVID, so what’s a city manager to do? Tell all those people, hell no, we don’t want your money? Don’t worry, the city will be providing PPE to businesses, sanitizing stations, and recommending 50% capacity at bars and restaurants. But of course, they can’t enforce that……enter at your own risk……..a good time for all!!

So now that you have your saddlebags packed and ready, there’s a surprise waiting for you music lovers when you get there.

LIVE CONCERTS! Just what we’ve been waiting for! The legendary Buffalo Chip is hosting a lineup of bands performing live on stage! A list of B-listers will include Molly Hatchet, The Guess Who, Smash Mouth, Trapt, Night Ranger, 38 Special, Buckcherry, and Quiet Riot. Also if you get there early enough, there’s a Beach Bikini Pre-party, as well as midget wrestling and lingerie fighting.

Are you with me? Or do you see yourself kicking back with a Bud Light in your boring back yard? Just saying…….we have options.

Happy Friday, have a great weekend, and be safe!
