Trump is expected to attend a makeshift meeting scheduled for later today by Pennsylvania Republican state lawmakers.
The Republican Party of Pennsylvania announced the so-called hearing at a Gettysburg hotel rather than the state Capitol, to look into alleged 2020 election irregularities.
The event does not appear on Trump’s public schedule, but he has expressed interest in joining Giuliani. Sources stressed to CNN that the presence of the president* was subject to change. Two Trump advisors confirmed to CBS that he is expected to attend the meeting, scheduled for 12:30pmEST.
It would be the first time Trump has left Washington since the election.
“It’s in everyone’s interest to have a full vetting of election irregularities and fraud,” Giuliani said in a statement. “And the only way to do this is with public hearings, complete with witnesses, videos, pictures and other evidence of illegalities from the November 3rd election.”
