Michigan Republican Asks Trump to Stop The Election Fraud Conspiracy

An outgoing U.S. Rep from Michigan is asking Trump to stop alleging that fraud caused him to lose the 2020 election.

Paul Mitchell who did not run for reelection to a third term in a pro-Trump district, has criticized Trump and enabling republicans for undermining the election.

Mitchell’s “loyalty” has been questioned, and his response?

“My loyalty is first and foremost to America, our Constitution and the importance of our election process. I took an oath to that – not to any individual political career,” Mitchell wrote on Nov. 28 after Michigan’s results were certified.

Last week, the Michigan State Board of Canvassers certified Michigan’s election results, with Biden receiving 154,000 more votes than Trump.

And still on Sunday, Sidney Powell and associates filed more lawsuits trying to force Governor Whitmer to overturn the results and award Michigan’s 16 electoral votes to Trump.

A separate conservative group also wants the Michigan Supreme Court to invalidate the results that show Biden won the state.

The latest lawsuit, filed in the Eastern District of Michigan and before the state’s highest court, rely on unfounded allegations of widespread fraud and misconduct that judges in the state and across the country have previously rejected. Neither has a high likelihood of success.

The lawsuit relies on a series of debunked or discredited theories including allegations that ballot tabulating software crafted by confederates of deceased Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez helped further a massive international conspiracy against Trump, carried out in Michigan and other swing states in order to secure Biden’s victory.
