Captain Mark Kelly is Sworn in to U.S. Senate

Congratulations go to Senator Mark Kelly as he was sworn in to the U.S. Senate on Wednesday afternoon.

His defeat of incumbent Republican Martha McSally in the seat formerly held by John McCain moves the balance of the senate to 52-48. A January run-off election in Georgia could tie the Senate at 50-50. Tie-breakers would be broken by Vice President Kamala Harris.

VP Mike Pence administered the oath, with Kyrsten Sinema at his side.
