Senate Republicans Shun House Attempts to Overturn the Election

Not a single Republican Senator has signed on to the Texas longshot lawsuit aimed at throwing out election results in four other states.

Many of them on Friday declined to attack the House Republican effort or the President’s strategy, but decline to embrace it.

“They signed onto an amicus brief in the House. There’s no version of that in the Senate,” said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.). “Amicus briefs can be important, but on a matter of this magnitude, I think the Supreme Court is going to make its decision whether or not it’s going to take the case based on the Constitution.”
