Stephanie Grisham Resigns After Violent Protests

Stephanie Grisham, the former White House communications director and press secretary and current chief of staff for first lady Melania Trump, submitted her resignation Wednesday afternoon, effective immediately, in the wake of the violent protests, a White House official says.

One of the longest-serving officials of the Trump administration, she worked for Trump since 2015 on the campaign trail. In the White House she served as deputy press secretary under Sean Spicer until Melania whisked her away to the East Wing, acting as the FLOTUS’s spokesperson and great defender.

Grisham declined to comment.
