Trump Denounces Insurrection in Video After Being Impeached For It

In a video posted to the White House Twitter account on Wednesday, the twice-impeached Donald Trump denounced violence, saying the attack at the Capitol struck at the heart of our republic.

“Violence and vandalism have absolutely no place in our country and no place in our movement. Make America Great Again has always been about defending the rule of law, supporting the men and women of law enforcement and upholding our nation’s most sacred traditions and values.”

Trump also blathered about free speech, as social media platforms have silenced his accounts.

“What is needed now is for us to listen to one another, not silence one another,” Trump said in his video. “All of us can choose by our actions to rise above the rancor and find common ground and shared purpose.”

The White House posted the video just as Speaker Pelosi was addressing reporters about the passing of the second impeachment of the president.
