Trump Reportedly Set to Issue 100 Pardons on Tuesday

Trump is preparing to issue around 100 pardons and commutations on his last full day on the job, according to sources.

The latest batch of clemency actions would include white-collar criminals, rappers, and political allies — but at this point is not planning a pardon for himself or any family members.

Trump, who has already issued two waves of pardons in the past month, met advisers on Sunday to finalize a list of more than 100 pardons and commutations.

While several rioters are asking for pardons, Lindsey Graham says a pardon of these people would be wrong.

Trump is likely to pardon those who will benefit his post-presidency, and likes the thought of doing favors for those he thinks will owe him something.

Dr. Salomon Melgen, a prominent eye doctor from Palm Beach who is in prison after being convicted on dozens of counts of health care fraud, is expected to be on the clemency list. Melgen is seen as a wealthy and influential figure in South Florida.

Julian Assange is not believed to be on the list, and it is also unknown whether Steve Bannon will be on the list.

Reuters and CNN covered the story.
