Florida Women Disguise Themselves as Grannies to Get Vaccines

Two Florida women disguised themselves as grandmas to gain access to their second doses of COVID-19 vaccines.

Florida is currently distributing vaccines to those 65 and older. The two women were 34 and 44, and just inches away from receiving their shots when vaccinators noticed something off about their appearances.

Dr. Raul Pino, the director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, told reporters that the women were caught dressing up as “grannies” — “the bonnets, the gloves, the glasses, the whole thing” — at the vaccination site on Wednesday. He said he was not sure how they had managed to get their first doses, but noted the community’s high demand for vaccines.

Health Department officials asked deputies to remove the two from the premises, and no charges were filed.
