Last week Trump’s lawyers sent cease-and-desist letters to three major Republican fundraising entities — the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the National Republican Senate Committee. They asked that they stop using Trump’s name in their fundraising appeals and merchandise.
The RNC responded on Monday, saying that the committee “has every right to refer to public figures as it engages in core, First Amendment-protected political speech, and it will continue to do so in pursuit of these common goals.”
In other words, the RNC plans to ignore the request, as it’s likely they have the law on their side to do as they please and don’t need his permission.
Last night in an attempt to continue to control which candidates get support, the former guy wants Republicans to just give him the money, power and trust to make those decisions. Just give him the money.
