Police declare riot in Portland, Oregon; charge protesters

Portland Police Department declared a riot on Monday evening after a crowd of roughly 200 people gathered in Southeast Portland to protest the police killing of a Black man in Minnesota. The crowd was said to have broke windows, tore down light fixtures, and set a dumpster on fire. Police responded by pushing them into the street. ‘They also shot munitions and deployed flash bang grenades before declaring an unlawful assembly, according to those at the scene.’
