Judge rules that aggravating factors existed in the death of George Floyd; paves the way for a longer sentence

Judge Peter Cahill ruled that aggravating factors existed in the death of George Floyd, which will result in a longer sentence for the murderous thug, Derek Chauvin. The judge also found that Chauvin abused his power as a police officer and treated Chavin with ‘particular cruelty.’

Under Minnesota law, Chauvin will only be sentenced on the most serious crime, second degree murder. More than likely, he will serve less than thirty years in prison and receive time credits for good behavior. Chauvin has also been indicted on federal charges ‘alleging he violated Floyd’s civil rights, as well as the civil rights of a 14-year-old he restrained in a 2017 arrest. If convicted on those charges, which were unsealed Friday, a federal sentence would be served at the same time as Chauvin’s state sentence. The three other former officers involved in Floyd’s death were also charged with federal civil rights violations; they await trial in state court on aiding and abetting counts.’
