The election of New York Rep Elise Stefanik as #3 GOP Conference Leader has been announced by the tweet of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Stefanik’s installment came by a secret ballot win, 134-46, only two days after Liz Cheney’s ouster.
Despite her public loyalty to Trump, Stefanik only voted in line with the former president’s positions 77.7% of the time while he was in office, according to FiveThirtyEight. Cheney, by comparison, voted with Trump 92.9% of the time.
