Monday on ABC’s The View, Meghan McCain said Joe Biden would need to talk to his creator over his pro-abortion stance because he is “doing grave spiritual harm to himself and harm to this country.”
Despite appeals from the Vatican, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops approved the drafting of a statement that would rebuke Catholic politicians, especially Joe Biden, over their support for abortion rights and deny them Communion.
McCain didn’t have a problem with that, and said that the President needs to seek penance.
Co-host Sunny Hostin, also a Catholic, wondered if bishops were practicing selective moral outrage over the issue of abortion, when there is no public rebuke of prominent conservative Catholics who are divorced or support the death penalty, and other cardinal sins.
She cited Newt Gingrich, divorcing two wives and marrying his third wife Callista — who was appointed by Donald Trump as United States ambassador to the Holy See, stationed with a Vatican role — and wondered if they were denied Communion.
