During Wednesday’s House Armed Services Committee hearing on the 2022 Defense Department budget, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Army Gen. Mark Milley pushed back on questions the smarmy MAGAt, Rep. Matt Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla asked about the latest GQP bogeyman, the Critical Race Theory (CRT), allegedly being taught to our soldiers.
“We do not teach critical race theory, we don’t embrace critical theory and I think that is a spurious conversation,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told Gaetz during a House Armed Services Committee hearing. “And so we are focused on extremism behaviors and not ideology, not people’s thoughts, not people’s political orientations.”NBC:
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley also responded to Matt Gaetz’ ridiculousness. Matt can be seen shaking his head during the General’s comments.
“I’ve read Mao Zedong. I’ve read Karl Marx. I’ve read Lenin. That doesn’t make me a communist. So what is wrong with understanding — having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend?” Milley said.
He continued brusquely: “And I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, noncommissioned officers of being, quote, ‘woke’ or something else, because we’re studying some theories that are out there.”NPR:
