The former guy’s VP Mike Pence on Thursday night said he would “always be proud” of his role in certifying the election of 2020 — without being heckled.
In a speech in Simi Valley, California, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, Pence defended his role and warned that more was at stake than his party and its political fortunes.
“If we lose faith in the Constitution, we won’t just lose elections — we’ll lose our country.”
But much of the speech was touting the Trump-Pence agenda. and praised Trump as a Reaganesque “disruptor” of the establishment politics.
He spoke of Trump’s “accomplishments” on free trade, border security and relations with China, and reiterated culture war grievances. He referred to Critical Race Theory as nothing more than “state-sanctioned racism.”
