On Indictment Day, Trump Is Energized By Lenient Charges

With indictments expected later today of the Trump Organization and its CFO Allen Weisselberg, a Trump adviser says Trump is thrilled by what he sees as light charges and his mind is racing to 2024.

The former guy was on a conference call with a group of advisers discussing his favorite topic — revenge — when word came that he would not face personal charges. His immediate reaction was to focus on how this would hurt Democrats, following the usual witch hunt narrative.

“Just wait until 2024, you’ll see. This is going to hurt Sleepy Joe.”

Trump was emboldened by the news and on a high following the bigly Ohio rally, and the adviser had the impression that Trump “was definitely going to run for president again.”

Trump aides also reveal that his interest in the Trump Organization case pales compared to the Big Lie, and still thinks the Arizona audit will prove to be the catalyst that overturns the election. “His world is seriously consumed by that,” this adviser says, and suggests the SDNY case is not even close to holding his attention.
