Adam Kinzinger (R-Illinois) has accepted Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s offer to join fellow Republican Liz Cheney on the January 6 committee that will be looking into causes, players, and security failures of the insurrection at the Capitol.
Kinzinger, a veteran of the Iraq War, was one of just 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump in January for inciting the riot, and one of just two GOP lawmakers who supported the select committee on which he’ll now sit.
The addition of Kinzinger makes the panel a nine member committee, with four seats still remaining vacant.
