In the last fourteen days, COVID-19 cases across the United States have increased 131 percent. Every state has seen an increase in cases but the South leads the way. The highly contagious Delta variant is to blame and has even affected those who are fully vaccinated. Officials now worry about the Lamda variant because of how little we know about it. Although there have been breakthrough cases, ‘the vast majority of people contracting the virus and being hospitalized are unvaccinated.’
