US Senate Passes $1 Trillion Dollar, Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill

The US Senate just approved a $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure plan, which provides momentum for this first phase of Biden’s “Build Back Better.” The vote tally was 69-30; it now heads to the House of Representatives where it will stall until the House returns from recess next month. The Senate will now work on passing  a budget resolution that would allow Democrats to approve what they see as a complementary $3.5 trillion spending plan without Republican votes.

In all, 19 Republicans joined all Democrats in voting for Senate passage. Vice President Kamala Harris, as presiding officer, announced the final tally.
