All Things Super Bowl LVI

It’s finally Super Bowl Sunday, so make room on the couch for a NewsViews free chat, where we can swap all thoughts Super Bowl LVI.

The Warm-Up: Puppy Bowl

Dr. Jill delivered a White House message that showcases that lovable new pup Commander to kick off the Puppy Bowl.

I was shocked/not shocked to hear that the Hallmark Channel ditched the Kitten Bowl this year.

The Game

Kickoff is at 6:30pm ET, and NBC is airing the game with two announcers with ties to Cincinnati — Cris Collinsworth played for the Bengals for his entire career, while Al Michaels began his announcing career for the Cincinnati Reds in the 70s.

This is Cincinnati’s third trip to the big game, but have yet to win it. The Los Angeles Rams have one big win, with a record of 1-3.

The current point spread has settled at Rams -4.

In case you were wondering, game attendees ages 5 and older must show proof of vaccination or negative PCR test within 48 hours or negative antigen test within 24 hours. Previous infection will not exempt attendees from showing proof of vaccination or negative testing. Masking is required unless eating or drinking.

The Halftime

The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show will feature Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar

And don’t forget —

The Commercials

I’d love to see replays of these Hall of Fame Super Bowl commercials.

The Snacks

Let’s not forget the snacks. Google trends showed regional favorite from 2020 to be pretty much all over the board. From chili, wings, and dips, there are some interesting “trends” in the Dakotas — pizza and marinara sauce? Green beans with beef broth in Mississippi? Potatoes in Nevada? and Alaska goes with Dill Pickle with Beef Dip. Wow.

Can anyone top that?
