Elon Musk Just Became the Biggest Twitter Shareholder

According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing disclosed on Monday morning, Elon Musk has purchased approximately 73.4 million shares in social media platform Twitter.

The acquisition makes Musk the largest stockholder of the company with 9.2%, more than four times founder Jack Dorsey’s 2.25% stake.

Musk has not made any public statement yet regarding the acquisition, but has been public about his criticisms of Twitter. Last month he said he was giving consideration to creating a new social media platform, and has been conducting public polls.

The question now is how active Musk plans to be in the future of Twitter to force changes.

Musk has 80 million followers on Twitter.
