While conservatives are focusing on the nomination and smearing of the future Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, new polling out today from POLITICO/Morning Consult shows the majority of all registered voters think Justice Clarence Thomas should recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 election.
Of course, Democrats overwhelmingly believe Thomas should recuse himself because of his wife Ginni’s actions. Republicans are mostly opposed to Thomas’s recusal. But you can put Independents in the favorable category, with 53% believing Thomas should definitely or probably recuse himself.
Thomas’s favorability (28%) has also decreased by five points since late February.
The percentage of voters with an unfavorable view of Thomas has increased by 12 points, at 36%.
