Now that TFG and the US Senate gave Texas Governor Abbott (A-Butt) a friendly, fascist SCOTUS to help further his fascist, authoritarian agenda, A-Butt said on some wingnut show that he will attempt again to deny undocumented children free public education as required in a 1982 SCOTUS ruling. Hey, it’s not in the Constitution so, why not test the previous ruling….settled law?
The Austin-American Statesman:
“Texas already long ago sued the federal government about having to incur the costs of the education program, in a case called Plyler versus Doe,” Abbott said, speaking during an appearance on the Joe Pags show, a conservative radio talk show. “And the Supreme Court ruled against us on the issue. … I think we will resurrect that case and challenge this issue again, because the expenses are extraordinary and the times are different than when Plyler versus Doe was issued many decades ago.”
A-Butt’s last political stunt cost Tejas one billion dollars per week after he imposed “safety inspections on trucks crossing the border from Mexico inflicted billions of dollars in U.S. trade losses — including $1 billion per week at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge alone, according to the latest tallies of the slowdown’s economic fallout.”
