Arkansas candidate for governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders was quoted at a rally saying that Republicans will fight to keep kids in the womb as safe as kids in the classroom.
What makes the quote even more tone-deaf is that she said it one day after the Uvalde, Texas, classroom mass shooting in May.
Arkansas is one of 13 states with trigger laws that gave the power to outlaw abortion immediately after Roe v Wade was overturned.
Abortions are now punishable in Arkansas with up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $100,000.
