The House of Representatives Releases a Redacted Version of TFG’s Tax Returns

Spoiler Alert: TFG's NOT a Successful Businessman

As promised, the House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee released redacted versions of six years worth of TFG’s tax returns. (See Attachment E).

While campaigning for president in 2015 and throughout his disastrous presidency, TFG claimed he could not release his taxes because they were under audit; that was another one of his many lies.

An IRS requirement dating back to 1977 orders audits of a president’s tax filings, according to the Associated Press, which noted there were audits of President Joe Biden’s tax filings for 2020 and 2021. The report on Trump’s returns “found that there was only one mandatory audit started and none completed during his four years in office,” and described the audit program as “dormant, at best.”

The returns, which include redactions of some personal sensitive information such as Social Security and bank account numbers, are from 2015 to 2020.

Shortly after the release of his returns, a Trump fundraising committee sent out a fundraising email with the line, “Urgent: The Democrats unconstitutionally released President Trump’s tax returns.” The Supreme Court declined to block the release of the returns to Congress.
