Happy Friday, News Viewers, welcome to our Friday Free Chat. Today, the words of David Crosby, compressed in prose form, relevant then, relevant now. Crosby died January 18.
“Turn, turn any corner, hear, you must hear what the people say. You know there’s something that’s going on around here, it surely won’t stand the light of day. And it appears to be a long time before the dawn. . . .
“Speak out against the madness, you got to speak your mind if you dare. But don’t try to get yourself elected; If you do, you had better cut your hair, and it appears to be a long time, such a long time, before the dawn…….”
[And for his son, he writes] “You see, I want a world where I can tell him the truth about everything from Jesus to John Wilkes Booth; how they lie in the house and the senate too, only get close to the truth when it suits them to. And the very next day, they’re back to lying that way.. . . I look at some of the faces all haggard and gaunt, I wonder which thing made them lose their dreams ’cause mine is alive very much it would seem, and I would just like to be able to hand it to him.
Without the light in those eyes ever getting dim, I want a dream for him. . .
Without the light in those eyes ever getting dim, I want a dream for him. . .
What’s going on with everyone this fine day? Whether it’s news of the world or news of your world, let’s talk about it. . . .
