With so much going on in our world, we sometimes miss important issues. Please feel free to share any headlines or new developments we may have missed providing they come from reliable and credible sources.  In other words, please do not post any missed headlines form far right ‘news’ sources or regurgitate their Russian propaganda unless you’re trying to point out that the far-right extremist in our country and elsewhere actually believe their own BS or Russian disinformation.   We also ask that you provide a link to your source so folks can read it if they want. Please do not make any claims that you cannot factually validate or verify.

Today in Fake News:

Steph Curry does NOT oppose low income housing; he opposed the construction of multi-family townhomes that would be built directly behind his home for privacy and safety reasons. DERP!

“As Atherton residents… we have been following along with the housing element updates with special interest in the 23 Oakwood property. We hesitate to add the “not in our backyard” (literally) rhetoric, but we wanted to send a note before today’s meeting. Safety and privacy for us and our kids continues to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose Atherton as our home.

We kindly ask that the town adopts the new housing element without the inclusion of 23 Oakwood,” the Currys wrote. “Should that not be sufficient for the state, we ask that the town commits to investing in considerably taller fencing and landscaping to block sight lines onto our family’s property.”

-Steph Curry

For RW, MAGAt morons who pretend they know how things work and they don’t, pay attention, MAGAt morons:

The project at 23 Oakwood would not fall under very low or low-income. Council member Rick DeGolia argued that because land in Atherton is worth up to $8 million per acre, it is impossible to build low-income housing.

***Of course, MAGAts leave that part out because they would have nothing to whine and gaslight about.

More Fake News: No, the FBI is not coming for Catholics-More Gaslighting: FBI Under Pressure for Targeting Catholics in Leaked Document

The FBI in Richmond discusses monitoring Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists (RMVE) and their interests in so-called “Radical-Traditionalist Catholics” or RTCs.

The memo notes that FBI investigations have found that there is a “growing overlap” between the far-right white nationalist movement and RTCs.

It adds that “RTCs are typically categorized by the rejection of the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) as a valid church council; disdain for most of the popes elected since Vatican II, particularly Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II; and frequent adherence to anti-Semitic, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ, and white supremacist ideology. Radical-traditionalist Catholics compose a small minority of overall Roman Catholic adherents and are separate and distinct from ‘traditionalist Catholics’ who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass and pre-Vatican II teachings and traditions, without the more extremist ideological beliefs and violent rhetoric.”

White House says Fox statement ‘inaccurate,’ Biden will not do Super Bowl interview

The White House said on Friday night that President Biden will not sit down with Fox for an interview ahead of the Super Bowl on Sunday, calling an earlier statement from Fox Corp. “inaccurate.”

“As we said earlier, we had arranged an interview with Fox Sports Host Mike Hill & Vivica A. Fox with the President ahead of the Super Bowl and Fox Corp had the interview cancelled,” a White House spokesperson told The Hill. “FOX has since put out a statement indicating the interview was rescheduled, which is inaccurate.”

***Fox made an inaccurate statement?! Shocking—NOT.

MAGAs Are Now Calling Themselves ‘Pure Bloods,’ But It’s Not Nazism … Yet

So if someone told you that the MAGAs are increasingly calling themselves “pure-blooded,” or “pure bloods” you should worry. We are telling you that they are increasingly calling themselves pure-blooded. But no, it doesn’t stand for “white” or God-forbid, “Aryan,” it stands for stupid. It stands for people who never had themselves vaccinated for COVID. Now, you will find a lot of elderly energized MAGAs, but you won’t find many “pure-blooded.” Older folks can’t afford to roll the dice to own the libs, and far too many younger ones ended up dead in an attempt to do so.

DeSantis wanted to ban guns at event, but not to be blamed, emails show

As Gov. Ron DeSantis prepared for an election night party in downtown Tampa last year, city officials received a surprising — and politically sensitive — request.

The Republican governor’s campaign wanted weapons banned from his victory celebration at the city-run Tampa Convention Center, a city official said in emails obtained by The Washington Post. And the campaign suggested that the city take responsibility forthe firearms ban, the official said — not the governor, who has been a vocal supporter of gun rights.

“DeSantis/his campaign will not tell their attendees they are not permitted to carry because of the political optics,” Chase Finch, the convention center’s safety and security manager, said in an Oct. 28 email to other city officials about the request, which was conveyed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), a state police agency led by a DeSantis appointee.
