Minnesota GOP Lawmakers Get Lit Up Over Recreational Marijuana Comments

During a Minnesota Senate debate over three bills to legalize recreational marijuana, several GOP state senators spoke against the bills and got baked roasted for their comments.

Those bills would allow residents 21 and older to buy up to 2 ounces of cannabis flower, 8 grams of concentrate or 800 milligrams of edible products and would let adults grow up to eight cannabis plants at home.

Below is State Sen. Warren Limmer explaining that two ounces is equivalent to three joints.

The amount of marijuana that Limmer claimed would be in a single joint is equivalent to roughly 18.9 grams.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found the average amount of marijuana in a single joint to be .32 gram.

Twitter users lit up Limmer’s comments.

The Minnesota Senators passed the marijuana bills on a 34-33 vote on Friday, with all Democrats voting for it and all Republicans opposed. The House passed the bills on Tuesday. The bills now head to a conference committee where their differences must be reconciled in a final version.
