Special Counsel Jack Smith has begun producing crucial evidence in the TFG document case (The United States vs. Donald Trump and Waltine Nauta). Evidence now in Team Trump’s hands include:
- Evidence obtained through subpoena and search warrants; transcripts of grand jury testimony in Washington, D.C., and Florida.
- Witness interviews conducted through last month.
- Excerpts of closed-circuit television footage.
- Grand jury testimony of witnesses who will testify for the government at this case.
The interviews include an audio-recorded July 2021 meeting with a writer and publisher at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club in which Trump, according to the indictment, showed and described a Pentagon “plan of attack” that he said was prepared for him by the Defense Department. Also turned over to Trump’s lawyers are public statements he made that are referenced in the indictment.
Prosecutors also said that Trump’s team can contact the government to arrange inspection of any unclassified items seized at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort on Aug. 8, 2022.
