Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito sold shares of Anheuser-Busch InBev, parent company of Bud Light, in August 2023, during the time of a nationwide MAGA boycott of the beer maker over its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
On the same day he sold Bud Light shares, he purchased the same amount of stock in Molson-Coors, a company with a history of facing boycotts from Mexican-Americans, Blacks and the LGBTQ community over workplace practices.
The revelation comes as Alito is facing accusations of engaging in or aligning with partisan politics, despite a recently adopted code of conduct that directs the justices to “refrain from political activity.”
Alito is also blaming his wife for displaying an inverted flag at his home, a symbol of support for the “Stop The Steal” campaign of MAGA wingnuts.
Alito denied any involvement in inverting the flag. He said that his wife, Martha-Ann Alito, “briefly” did so “in response to a neighbor’s use of objectionable and personally insulting language on yard signs.”
