In a nationalized speech ahead of Hurricane Milton making landfall in Florida, President Biden gave a stark warning of the storm’s danger but also addressed the debunked and ridiculous conspiracy theories that are floating around MAGAt World.
"Marjorie Taylor Greene, the congresswoman from Georgia, is now saying the federal government is literally controlling the weather, we’re controlling the weather. It’s beyond ridiculous. It’s so stupid. It’s got to stop," Biden said in televised remarks at the White House.
President Biden stated that all this MAGAt bullshit is undermining rescue efforts and needs to stop.
"Assertions have been made that property is being confiscated. That’s simply not true," he said. "They’re saying people impacted by these storms will receive $750 in cash and no more. That’s simply not true. They’re saying the money is needed for this crisis is being diverted to migrants. What a ridiculous thing to say — it’s not true."
The Federal Emergency Management Agency set up a website to deal with the influx of rumors spreading about the hurricanes, including the false claim that FEMA is redirecting disaster relief toward migrants.
